TROY is a Belgian rapper, producer and trumpet player who feels at home in the warm, soulful and jazzy world of hip-hop. His music strikes a balance between tradition and innovation, with conscious lyrics running through it all. His work focuses not only on the beat, but also on the message: reflective and rooted in personal and social observations. As a child of artists such as Joey Bada$$, Malz Monday, etc., TROY learnt to convey his message through flows and beats in the style of the ‘New School Boom Bap’ generation, but he is increasingly colouring outside the lines. Influenced by innovators such as Tyler, The Creator, Childish Gambino and Saba, he consciously explores the boundaries of hip-hop, without losing sight of its essence.
