crackups

Club

Saturday 16:30 - 17:00

Crackups is a band of extremes, and that's how we like them. Blowing hard, retest tight and nice and fast. Garage, punk, early hardcore or noiserock? Who knows? Crackups thrives in the ranks of harder Belgian guitar bands that have been bombarding you with delicious pocketing noise for several years now: from Cocaine Piss, Teen Creeps, Mind Rays to The Guru Guru (and a hell of a lot more). However, after a victory tour at Humo's Rock Rally 2010, and their debut album Animals on Acid with meaningful song titles like The Only Cure is Alcohol, it became very quiet around the band. Until the Kempen-based band were called back on stage by Thibault Christiaensen (Equal Idiots). Since then, things have been going hard for Crackups. With middle finger up their nose, Crackups expertly spew hellish power songs into the venue, splinter bombs of shameless distortion, some more uncompromising than others, that rarely cross the two-minute mark. Powered by screamer Valkiers and a driving bass, this is a solid chunk of noise that blows you over at an astonishing rate.
