When Channel Zero decided to call it quits in 1997, they had released four albums in five years. These four albums gave them metal immortality. They started out as an obscure, grooving underground trash metal band. They quickly became the biggest metal phenomenon in the Benelux thanks to their third album, Unsafe, and their fresh, sharp sound. This album took them to the USA, where they toured the world with Megadeth, Danzig, Biohazard and others, and played the biggest European festivals. In 1996, they released ‘Black Fuel’, produced by Attie Bauw. It quickly became the metal album of an entire generation. But despite the subsequent European tour with Body Count, Channel Zero called it quits in 1997. The band members went their separate ways after thanking their legion of fans with a live CD of their Marktrock show. On 22 January 2009, Channel Zero played a one-off reunion show at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. The show sold out within a minute... Channel Zero would eventually play six sold-out AB shows for more than 12,000 people. All tickets sold out in less than an hour. They became the biggest metal phenomenon in the Benelux.
